The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist facilitates recovery-focused groups and activities while providing a supportive environment for individuals with mental illness or addiction. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and hold a valid CPRS certification or be able to obtain one within 90 days. A valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and lived experience with mental illness or substance use disorder are required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) assists in providing a safe, fun, and supportive environment where individuals with a mental illness or addiction gain confidence, build social skills, and engage in learning and leisure activities with peers. The CPRS will achieve the program goal and operation through various job duties to include actively facilitating groups and activities on recovery topics. The CPRS assists clients with articulating personal goals for recovery; assisting participants in determining reasonable and holistic steps in recovery; and identifying barriers to recovery goals.
High school diploma or GED is required.
