As a CNC Operator at CenterPoint, you will be responsible for using the CNC machinery to perform functions such as cutting, drilling, and finishing parts to ensure components of various types, sizes, weight and thickness to meet specifications. CAD abilities and experience highly desired.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare and operate CNC router to perform tasks such as routing, drilling etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the CNC can perform the correct function.
- Prepare and load raw (wood) materials and parts onto the CNC.
- Conduct 'test runs' to confirm the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Accurately set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts.
- Monitor the machines while they execute tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce more desirable results.
- Inspect and measure finished products to validate that they meet requirements ensuring accuracy and completion.
- Perform daily maintenance of CNC machinery to ensure functionality.
- Collaborate with builders to deliver machined parts for assigned jobs.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required skills/Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Technical degree OR completion of related apprenticeship program is beneficial but not required.
- At least two years of related experience required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
- Familiar with wood and plastic sheet goods.
- Experience with applying and programing toolpaths to 2D parts, G-Code preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
- Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Demonstrate clear and effective communication skills.
- Proficient in basic computer applications including the ability to navigate multiple systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods working on feet.
- Frequent stooping, bending, and operation of hand tools.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.
