General Description
Centering Healthcare Institute (“CHI”) is a non-profit organization that collaborates with healthcare providers across all sectors to transform healthcare. Our mission is to champion and advance the evidence-based Centering group model of care to transform how healthcare is practiced and experienced, empowering healthcare providers and patients to improve health outcomes.
We empower patients, strengthen patient-provider relationships, and build communities through three main components: health assessment, interactive learning, and community building. CHI is transforming healthcare delivery and outcomes for all families, beginning with pregnancy and early childhood, by expanding access to our evidence-based framework for billable group medical visits. With over two decades of experience, CHI has successfully scaled Centering to approximately 480 Centering sites in more than 40 U.S. states and territories, with approximately 28,000 patients served in 2025.
The Role
CHI’s Vice President of Growth & Strategic Partnerships (VP) is responsible for developing and implementing the business development, marketing, and philanthropic strategy alongside the CEO to support CHI’s future plans to scale. They must demonstrate impeccable leadership, revenue-generation, and philanthropic acumen with a passion and drive for success; possess excellent communication and presentation skills; and be an effective team leader with the ability to drive revenue, build and maintain positive relationships and influence colleagues and non direct reports enterprise-wide.
Areas of Leadership
The Vice President of Growth & Strategic Partnerships oversees an entire portfolio, exercising substantial discretion and independent judgment over significant matters. The Vice President of Growth & Strategic Partnerships will supervise Senior Directors, Directors, Managers, and other employees while contributing to strategic planning, execution, and reports to the CEO. They play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's direction and ensuring its long-term success.

Executive and Organizational
As an Executive team member, spearhead the organization's growth strategies, championing both near-term expansion and long-term vision for the Centering network and lead efforts to diversify the Centering model, exploring partnerships and new markets to broaden its impact and reach
Participate in the organization’s strategic planning and develop impact and evaluation priorities, including the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for near and long-term growth
Establish meaningful relationships with existing and prospective top CHI donors, foundations, third-party payers, and community partners, including managing a portfolio of six- and seven-figure donors and prospects, and also supporting the CEO to manage their own strategic portfolio of top donors.

Team Leadership
Collaborate and strategize with the CEO and other senior leaders across the organization to execute thoughtful systems and processes to measure and ensure progress toward revenue goals and departmental efficiencies.
Serve as a collaborative peer and strategic thought partner to finance leadership regarding grants, contracts, budgets, and the formation of essential policies and procedures.
Manage an annual departmental budget with oversight from the CEO
Establish meaningful relationships with existing and prospective top CHI donors, foundations, third-party payers, and community partners, including managing a portfolio of six- and seven-figure donors and prospects, and also supporting the CEO to achieve annual business development revenue targets.
Oversee and ensure execution alongside the CEO of the operational functions of the Business Development, Philanthropy and Marketing Communications team, including database management, gift acknowledgment and tracking, online giving and pipeline management
Alongside CEO, serve on the CHI Development Advisory Committee overseen by the CHI board of directors
Covers CEO to oversee teams during absence- covers Executive meetings, departmental meetings, and check-ins.
Set business development goals, regularly monitor progress, and share results with CEO (as requested) to ensure the business development team is on track to meet and exceed organizational goals and objectives
Market Expansion as aligned with three-year Strategic Plan priorities

Responsibilities

Create and execute a sales plan that meets or exceeds established sales quotas and supports annual revenue targets.
Lead a team of National Directors, Managers, and Associates, motivating and developing the team to deliver upon sales plans across their territories.
Philanthropy stewardship and engagement
Meet regularly with existing clients and prospects to understand their evolving business needs and position CHI to meet surfaced needs.
Build long-term, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with existing and new national partners.
Work effectively with internal support departments to promote sales for new and existing clients to maximize scale and sustainability of Centering, and to ensure seamless client experience.
Plan and execute all CHI external and internal stakeholder meetings according to Development Team Leadership and stewardship standards.
Attend conferences and professional association meetings to promote CHI and Centering.
Manage administrative functions to ensure accurate and timely recording of sales activities and performance reports, analyze report data to project trends and build forecasts, and maintain accurate and complete client and prospect databases.
Reporting Structure and Key Relationships
This position reports directly to the CEO and directly manages the Business Development Associate, Senior Director of Business Development, Health Policy Manager, Coding and Billing, Senior FDHC Partnership Manager
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience:
Continuous professional development and staying informed to ensure the organization operates within legal frameworks and consistent with the best practices in the field, is required.
5-10 years of Experience in Sales, Fundraising, or Multimillion dollar revenue-generating roles
Executive Leadership experience with direct reports
Strong Sales Experience
Skills:
Outstanding interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills;
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software

Working Conditions
The Vice President of Growth & Strategic Partnerships operates in a remote office-like environment. While adhering to a standard full-time work schedule, working irregular hours may be necessary. We prioritize adaptability, iterative approaches, and cross-functional collaboration, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Communication: Regular check-ins via [communication tools, e.g., Teams, Zoom, email] are required to maintain alignment, productivity and collaboration.
Productivity: Must be able to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work without direct supervision. This utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and audiovisual systems
Travel: 30% Travel to various locations may be expected for attending conferences, staff meetings and retreats, and any other relevant event.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for the Vice President of Growth & Strategic Partnerships role is $135,000–$140,000, based on the qualifications and years of relevant experience the selected candidate brings.

Vaccination Requirements
