Full job description

CCIA seeks a motivated policy professional to support the Association’s policy advocacy goals. The portfolio will support multiple policy experts across technology-based portfolios including artificial intelligence, privacy, telecommunications, and other areas of digital regulation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support CCIA’s policy team to further public policy goals and outreach on behalf of member companies across multiple portfolios.
  • Monitor relevant domestic policy and regulations that are projected to affect the technology sector and broader connected economy; keep CCIA members informed of relevant developments.
  • Assist in CCIA’s engagement with U.S. government stakeholders to inform ongoing policy responses.
  • Draft policy recommendations, regulatory comments, research, and advocacy papers.

Minimum Qualifications:

3-5 years relevant work experience in public policy, government, or regulatory affairs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working across multiple technology portfolio issues.
  • Demonstrated problem solver with the ability to independently execute multiple projects while managing diverse stakeholder interests.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in writing to audiences with varying levels of subject matter expertise.

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  • Strong familiarity with one or more of the following policy areas: online safety, content moderation, privacy, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, or intellectual property.
  • Ability to work across a broad range of adjacent policy topics.
  • A self-starting personality, strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong academic credentials; excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills; and a demonstrated ability to perform effectively on a team.
  • Experience working with relevant government agencies formulating or implementing technology policy.
  • Familiarity with the services and business models of CCIA members.

Compensation and Benefits:

CCIA is a collegial, team-based organization that offers a flexible, hybrid work environment with up to two weeks of remote work per calendar year. CCIA compensation is commensurate with experience. This role approximates the federal GS-11 payscale, with incentive compensation based on the annual performance of the employee and the Association.
