Job DetailsJob Location: Chapel Hill, NC 27514Position Type: Part TimeTo provide nutritional counseling and education which meets the needs of an aging population. Participate as a member of the health care delivery team in the assessment of individual resident needs and as part of the dining services team in the decision making process of meeting resident needs.
The person in this role is also expected to

REPORTS TO: Director of Dining Services
SURVISES TO: N/A
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Accept and fulfill requests from full-time permanent R.D. to verify and maintain accuracy of nutrition analysis notebooks for all menu cycles and provide clinical coverage and related nutrition duties as needed.
· Participate in the planning/development of all cycle menus
· Closely review recipes provided by Chef Manager
· Communicate with DS secretary to ensure final menus are accurate in regards to labeling and spelling
· Develop and update cycle menu glossaries
Obtain basic nutrition assessment /food preference information for admissions to the health center.
· Update Diet order forms and distribute to building 4 hot carts.
· Update dining Delights Notebook.
· Complete nutrition assessment using the current AOD Timetable as a guideline for Health Center residents.
· Enter Nutrition assessment, Risk Factor, Care Plans, update target dates and enter Signature Data into AOD computer system or other tasks as indicated by timetable or per requests from overseers of time table i.e. Director of Nursing (D.O.N), Administrative secretary, or social worker.
· Obtain nutrition education materials.
· Retrieve general communications via voice mail, email and direct contact from staff and residents during times of full time RD’s absence.
· Complete nutrition assessments and other clinical duties requested by full time RD during periods when increased coverage hours are needed.
QualificationsEducation
Bachelor’s Degree in food and nutrition.
Registered Dietitian with current License to practice in North Carolina.
Experience
· Previous experience with older adults in a health care or retirement setting.
