The Payroll Manager oversees daily payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing while maintaining compliance with legislative requirements. They also lead payroll accounting activities, manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and provide leadership to the payroll team.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience leading in-house Canadian payroll and hold a professional certification such as PCP or PLP. Expert knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, tax accounting, and proficiency in payroll/HRIS systems are essential.
Role Impact:
The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of payroll operations and ensuring all employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with corporate guidelines and legislative requirements. The role provides leadership and technical guidance to Payroll Advisors and serves as the primary subject matter expert on payroll legislation, regulatory requirements, and legislative changes. Responsible for payroll accounting activities, including payroll reconciliation, general ledger balancing, payroll clearing, bank account administration, and year-end payroll processes. The role acts as the primary liaison with Finance, auditors, financial institutions and payroll vendors to ensure the effective administration of payroll operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Starting base salary for this job level may range from $81,433 to $108,577. The actual base salary offered will consider several factors including, but not limited to the role, experiences, skills & qualifications, location, market and internal considerations; with this context, CF reserves the right to pay above this range. Cadillac Fairview offers a competitive total rewards package in addition to base pay which may include a performance – based incentive plan, a comprehensive pension and benefits plan, paid time off including vacation, well-being & volunteer days and support for continued growth and development.
