Full job description
6 month fixed-term contract based at our Woodville North facility.
Kickstart your security career in a trusted Defence and national security environment.
About the Role
Are you looking to build your career in security within a nationally recognised Defence environment? We are seeking a Security Coordinator to join our team at Woodville North on a 6-month fixed-term contract, supporting our experienced Security team and helping to protect critical Defence programs across Australia.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their security career who is eager to develop their knowledge and gain hands-on experience across personnel, physical and information security. Working closely with security professionals, you will play an important role in ensuring day-to-day security operations run smoothly while supporting compliance with the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and other national security requirements.
As Security Coordinator, you will provide administrative and operational support across a range of security activities, including personnel security processes, access control, visitor management, assurance activities, security clearances and compliance reporting. You'll work with internal stakeholders, Defence partners and government agencies, helping to maintain robust security practices.
Success in this role will come from your strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities and commitment to delivering exceptional stakeholder support. In return, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of security functions, work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to programs that play a vital role in Australia's Defence capability.
If you're looking for a career-building opportunity where you can learn, grow and make a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.
To be successful, you will bring:
Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
Basic understanding of DSPF, PSPF, ASIO Technical Notes, and national security frameworks.
Willing to contribute to security risk assessments, investigations, and incident response planning.
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of physical, personnel, and governance security within the defence industry.
Experience in Defence security, ideally within a DISP environment would be an advantage.
Strong administrative and computer skills with high attention to detail.
