You will develop robust cost and schedule estimates for complex projects while collaborating with engineering and commercial teams. Additionally, you will analyze risks and opportunities to contribute to competitive tender submissions and support project outcomes.
Candidates must hold a relevant qualification in project management, engineering, or a related discipline and possess experience in applying various estimating methodologies. You must also be eligible to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Defence Security Clearance.
Babcock is looking for an Estimator to join the Project Controls team based in Devonport, Auckland.
At Babcock New Zealand, you'll play a key role in shaping project success through accurate cost and schedule estimating across complex programmes. Working closely with project, engineering and commercial teams, you'll develop robust estimates, analyse risks and opportunities, and contribute to competitive tender submissions that support critical customer outcomes.

You are an analytical and detail-oriented estimator who enjoys solving complex project challenges. You have experience developing cost estimates across multiple project lifecycle stages and can confidently apply bottom-up, top-down, comparative and parametric estimating techniques. You understand risk, uncertainty and forecasting principles, and can communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. Comfortable working in a structured, compliance-focused environment, you thrive in collaborative teams, embrace continuous improvement, and are motivated by delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes for customers and programmes.
