The COTA administers occupational therapy to patients in their residences based on physician orders and a plan of care. Responsibilities include performing skilled procedures, instructing patients and families on home programs, and maintaining timely medical records.
Candidates must be certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant by the AOTA and hold current state licensure. Two years of experience is preferred, along with the physical ability to perform moderate lifting and extensive bending.
Description
A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) administers occupational therapy to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist and Director of Therapy, Home Health.
Works indoors in Agency office and patient homes and travels to/from patient homes.
