Atwood Companies is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our growing organization across property management, real estate, and mortgage operations.
We're looking for someone who enjoys helping people, solving problems, creating consistency, and keeping the day-to-day functions of Human Resources running smoothly. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys balancing people and process, and wants to make a meaningful impact on the employee experience.
This is an in-office position based in our Mankato, Minnesota office.
What You'll Do
As our Human Resources Generalist, you'll support employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle by:
Coordinating recruiting, onboarding, and new hire orientation
Administering payroll, benefits, leave administration, and HRIS processes
Supporting employee relations, policy interpretation, and performance management
Maintaining HR records and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies
Assisting with training coordination, employee communications, and compliance reporting
Supporting employee recognition, engagement, wellness, and company events
Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and systems
Staying current on employment laws and HR best practices while helping leadership navigate regulatory changes

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Two or more years of Human Resources experience
Working knowledge of federal, state, and Minnesota employment laws
Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR software platforms
Preferred
SHRM, HRCI or other relevant certification
Experience supporting a multi-location workforce
Experience with ADP TotalSource or similar HRIS/payroll systems
