Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders through in-center and out-of-center sleep testing. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventions while providing direct patient education and oversight of sleep center staff.
Requires a high school diploma and a certificate or associate degree in sleep technology, along with a NJ State Polysomnographic Technologist license. Must hold BLS certification and an RPSGT, RST, or SDS credential, with 2-3 years of experience preferred.
A sleep technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. A sleep technologist can perform the duties defined for a sleep technician and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff when needed.
