Why this role is a blank canvas

Brand is the one asset that compounds while everything else at a startup resets. Every deck, every customer story, every post builds on the last one, and the person who builds that foundation owns something no later hire can claim.

You will be one of the first people on our GTM team and the first owner of how Atira looks, sounds, and gets found: our positioning, our visual identity, our customer stories, and our presence in a market where no one has built a great brand yet. You work directly with the founders, who stay hands-on with positioning while you turn it into something the whole company builds on. And you won't start from zero: you'll build on our recently completed rebranding with a top-tier design agency and turn the new identity into everything Atira ships.

You won't be someone who "supports marketing" at Atira. You'll build a company's brand from scratch in one of the hardest, most valuable B2B markets there is.

How the role sits in the team

You are the first person at Atira whose full-time job is brand and marketing. You will define how Atira presents itself to the public, both from a strategic and operational perspective. The role sits at the heart of our GTM team with our BDR, AE, and GTM Engineer, and you work across every department: sales needs decks and stories, engineering needs a tech blog, product needs launches told in buyer language, recruiting needs an employer brand. You are the connective tissue that makes all of it look and sound like one company.

What you will do

You will shape how Atira presents itself to the public, across every medium: text, visuals, web, fairs, and events. Concretely:

• Build the messaging foundation. Together with the founders, constantly refine who Atira is for, what we claim, and why we win

• Own the visual identity. Consistent design across website, decks, product touchpoints, and events. You own the design system and the rules it is built upon

• Make Atira visible. LinkedIn presence, customer stories, industry fairs and events. The goal is measurable: inbound interest and recognition among our target buyers and recruiting prospects

• Grow into product marketing. Once the foundation stands, translate product capability into buyer language: launch narratives, one-pagers, demo storylines, side by side with our engineers and FDEs

What we are looking for

Creativity, hunger, structure, and the kind of taste that makes Atira iconic. We care more about who you are than about your CV. We have hired strong people from non-traditional backgrounds before and will confidently do it again.

That said, here is what we typically see in strong candidates:

• Trained in a high-performing environment. 2+ years as part of a larger marketing or brand team, or under a strong marketing lead, at a startup, scaleup, or agency. You learned the craft from experienced people before owning it alone

• Ownership evidence. You have owned a brand-shaped project end to end: rebuilt a startup's messaging and deck, ran a rebrand or website relaunch, or built a founder's LinkedIn presence to real reach

• Craft. Your portfolio shows crisp writing and strong visual judgment. At Atira we highly value people who have clear opinions and are not afraid to share them!

• Complex B2B exposure. Experience with, or demonstrated affinity for, technical or industrial B2B. You can talk to engineers and buyers without losing them

• Self-directed. Comfortable owning the function alone, setting your own priorities, and shipping without a team

• German + English. Fluent German for DACH industrial buyers and events, excellent English for global content

• Target buyers recognize us: growing LinkedIn engagement from ICP accounts, 2-3 published customer stories, presence at a key industry event, and the first inbound leads traceable to your work

• The content engine runs without founder prompting, and brand requests from sales and recruiting get handled with fast turnaround
