Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' lactation goals and provide instruction on proper breastfeeding techniques. Act as a liaison between staff and physicians while contributing to data tools to improve patient outcomes.
Requires a Registered Nurse license and BLS certification, with Neonatal Resuscitation certification required within six months. A diploma from an accredited nursing school is required, and lactation certification or NICU experience is preferred.
