The technologist is responsible for preparing patients for polysomnograms and monitoring them throughout the night to ensure safety and data integrity. They also perform high-level data scoring to identify sleep stages and respiratory events for physician interpretation.
Candidates must hold a BLS provider certification and obtain a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist credential within one year. Educational requirements include a high school diploma with two years of experience, an associate degree, or four years of relevant job experience.
