ABOUT THE ROLE The CAPEX Coordinator provides broad energy and support for capital planning and execution for all product lines, within a sub-market in Western Canada (WCAN). This role is highly integrated with a broad range of operations staff, and business leaders, and functional staff such as Finance, Procurement, Safety, and Environment. This role coordinates plant and operations assessments, equipment utilization reviews, and business case development to drive asset optimization, cost savings, and growth opportunities. This role also involves adjacent activities such as lease management and some market intelligence aspects. You will work within a team of 3 Coordinators in Western Canada, for the Western Canada Manager but may also be assigned tasks for the sub-market SVP. This role is critical to successful growth of our businesses and to ensuring alignment with long term strategic goals.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
Create a capital and investment budget for your submarket based on revenue and re-investment guidelines.
Create a clear path for sustaining capex activity as well as near and long term development activity for the submarket.
Own the lease list in parallel with capex with the support of the Capital Delivery team and available fleet assessments.
Ensure rapid delivery of projects by de-bottlenecking internal and external processes and constant problem solving.
Drive decision making activity throughout the organization, aligned and supported by the WCAN Capital Planning & Systems manager.
Consistently provide monthly progress updates as required and fully support the NA Capex360 system.
Often provide presentation development and support for GMs and Operation Leaders as they develop their more complex growth cases with the intent to transform our organizations into one that has the ability to develop ideas into business cases and then into reality.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelors Degree. Field of Study Preferred: Engineering or Business. Required Work Experience: 1-5 years of relevant experience in the construction or building materials industry Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, SAP Travel Requirements: 20%.
