Maintenance Mechanic
• POSITION SUMMARY: Performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems.
• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.
• Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
• Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints buildings structures.
• Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
• Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.
• May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.
• Maintains company vehicles, tools, and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Organizational and time management skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills including ability to effectively present information to top management
• Self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize work day/projects independently
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Computer literate (Windows, MS office, E-mail, Internet)
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
• Good skills in the use of hand and power tools
• Job related experience is required
• Mathematical skills
• Understand and read wire diagrams
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to adapt to changing work priorities; work under time constraints and comply with OSHA regulations
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIRED:
• Valid Driver’s license
• Fort truck certified
