Prepares and operates CNC mills and lathes to manufacture high-precision parts according to work instructions and blueprints. Responsible for in-process inspections, machine maintenance, and accurate data entry into the ERP system.

Requires a minimum of 6 years of machining experience, preferably in high-precision or military environments, and a high school diploma. Must be proficient in multi-axis CNC programming and the use of precision measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.

Position Summary: Prepares and operates computer numerical control machines. Follows provided operational instructions for the machine and part processes. Responsible for the proper loading of parts and materials. Responsible for in-process inspections and may require finessing. Responsible for accurate entries into ERP system. Manufactures parts to required quantity. Maintains a properly 5S work area and supports machine maintenance as required. Responsible for providing relevant feedback timely and accurately to managers and machinists. Monitors machine operation and display readouts to detect malfunctions. Compares display data to specifications and notifies supervisor of machine malfunctions. Inspects and measures parts to verify conformance to specifications. May perform machine adjustments and maintenance. Adheres to facility and machine safety procedures, alerting manager of any safety concerns. Plans machining by studying work orders and work instructions. Interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs part processing per provided work instruction and/or verbal instruction.
Interprets drawing requirements
Select and utilize appropriate cutting tools and work holding for various materials and machining processes.
Perform precise measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet stringent quality control standards.
Manages tooling and fixturing as required
Reports faulty hardware, processes, and non-conformances to immediate supervisor
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
May assist with developing new machining methods and tooling for complex parts.
Actively engage in and initiate continuous improvement activities
Other duties assigned.
Self starter and able to see projects through from start to finish.
Ability to update and adjust processes as needed with proper documentation.
Qualifications:
Experience and Education:
Minimum of 6 years of machining experience, preferably in a high-precision or military environment.
High school degree or equivalent
Technical Skills:
Proficient in operating and programming CNC 3,4, and 5 Axis Mills and Lathes.
Doosan Mill/Turn knowledge a plus
Fanuc control experience a plus
Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
Ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM).
Understanding of GD&T
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift heavy equipment and materials up to 50lbs
Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms.
Capable of standing for long periods and working in various industrial settings (e.g., machine shops).
