The Certified Medical Assistant will provide direct patient care, assist medical providers with exams and procedures, and manage clinical workflows including lab tests and electronic health record documentation. They are also responsible for maintaining exam rooms, sterilizing equipment, and facilitating patient engagement and education.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and have completed a California-based Medical Assistant training program. A current CPR certificate is required, and California Phlebotomy Certification is strongly preferred.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

o Update all lab requisition files on a monthly basis.
o Keep PAP trays stocked and ready for use.
o Maintain monthly inventory of lab-related supplies and order as needed.
o Check in and put away all incoming orders from outside vendors.
o Maintain Lab/DI tracker up to date and send letters to patients per protocol

· Experience in an outpatient setting or working with a health clinic desirable.

In 2013, Alexander Valley Healthcare was designated a federally qualified health center, which allows it to receive federal health care grants and enhanced Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. With the new designation, Alexander Valley Healthcare was able to expand its services and staff adding general dentistry, behavioral health and substance abuse services, chronic care case management, and other patient services for the community. In addition to serving uninsured and low-income patients, Alexander Valley Healthcare also cares for a large number of privately insured patients and Medicare beneficiaries. In total Alexander Valley Healthcare providers annually receive and care for 5,000 patients covering more than 25,000 patient visits. The next chapter is the construction of a state-of-the-art medical facility in downtown Cloverdale which will house all the primary medical, behavioral health and dental services under one roof and allow for an expansion of services and community partnerships.
