ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager of Communications will translate AJCP’s communications strategy into action and own its day-to-day execution. Working from the direction set by the Communications Lead, this individual will build the campaign roadmaps, editorial calendars, and narrative frameworks that bring the plan to life, propose story angles and campaign strategies for approval, and serve as the primary point of contact for agency partners and media. The role balances strategic contribution with hands-on execution: leading local and national pitching, managing agency deliverables, and keeping press campaigns moving on time and on message. The Communications Lead sets the overarching strategy and provides final signoff before materials reach senior leadership. The ideal candidate is a seasoned communications professional with strong national media relationships, a background in travel and lifestyle, and exposure to corporate communications who can both shape the approach and deliver flawless execution.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Strategy Execution

- Propose story angles, campaign strategies, and positioning recommendations for the Communications Lead’s review and approval
- Build and maintain the narrative frameworks and messaging platforms that keep coverage consistent across verticals and markets
- Monitor the media landscape and competitive activity, surfacing opportunities and risks that inform strategy
Launch & Event Support
- Manage PR timelines for hotel openings, food and beverage concepts, and other asset activations
- Lead logistics for media events and tenant/hotel openings
- Collaborate cross-functionally with brand, marketing, design, and development teams
Media Relations & Pitching
- Lead day-to-day media relations across lifestyle, travel, food and beverage, real estate, and business verticals
- Lead logistics for press visits
- Develop and pitch story angles that advance AJCP’s lifestyle and corporate narratives, sourcing ideas through cross-collaboration with brand, leasing, deal leads, and property teams
- Leverage and expand strong national media relationships to secure meaningful coverage in top-tier publications
- Draft and refine press releases, pitches, media alerts, bios, and briefing documents for review by the Communications Lead
- Drive a consistent cadence of earned media aligned with brand and corporate goals
Agency Management
- Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for external PR firms and consultants, freeing senior leadership to focus on strategy and framing
- Hold agency partners accountable to scope, timelines, and deliverables, chasing outstanding items and managing monthly check-ins
- Evaluate agency performance and value, and surface recommendations to the Communications Lead on where support can be sharpened or reallocated
- Coordinate with tenants, partners, and brands to co-pitch and execute joint PR strategies
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly PR reports, tracking earned media across local, national, and industry outlets
- Partner with agencies to produce campaign recaps and distribute results to key internal stakeholders
