About Us
Acme Finishing is a leader in powder and liquid coating for manufacturing companies that need reliable, consistent, on-time service. We're building a culture of high performance where employees are rewarded with real career growth opportunities and additional compensation for helping move the company forward. Our purpose is simple: win, grow, and wow our customers.
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Quality Lead to make sure every product that leaves our facility meets customer specifications - and to keep our documentation airtight along the way. You'll pay special attention to samples, first piece orders, verification-required jobs, and any job with a history of customer complaints, while helping train and guide the line personnel and inspectors you work alongside.
What You'll Do
- Verify color, gloss, mil thickness, and adhesion on all coated parts, with extra scrutiny on samples, first piece orders, and verification-required jobs
- Select products for testing at key production stages and run destructive/nondestructive tests to check dimensions, performance, and quality
- Show packers and line personnel the ropes on visual inspection criteria and processes
- Perform AQL-level sampling on sample and first-time order lots
- Document and verify First Article Inspection (FAI) paperwork and other customer-required records
- Help sort out the disposition of nonconforming customer or internal product
- Help create and audit customer Specification Sheets, updating them for process changes or first-time production runs
- Support customer onboarding to launch new work without quality issues
- Work alongside supervisors and managers to problem-solve quality issues and help keep reject rates below line-specific goals
What You'll Bring
- Associate degree or 2+ years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Analytical mindset with the ability to define problems, gather data, and draw sound conclusions
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, and technical/procedure manuals
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Bilingual Spanish is a big plus
Work Environment
This is a hands-on manufacturing role. You'll occasionally stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs, and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and varying temperatures typical of a coatings production floor.
