A.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation of Organization Budget and monitoring performance for variance analysis
• MIS – Preparation and Maintenance of MIS Report as per organizational requirements
• Handling of Internal Audit, Statutory Audits and Tax Audits etc.
• Cross Functional knowledge of various aspects of accounting & finance like Direct/Indirect Taxation., Costing, Custom Duties, Transfer Pricing, Forex and Treasury operations etc.
• Knowledge of Excise / Service Tax and Sales Tax assessments and filling of monthly/Quarterly /Annual Returns.
• Should be able to handle the work of finalization of Accounts. As part of accounting functions, monitoring and controlling day to day account department activities.
• Working Knowledge of SAP preferred.

C. Key Activities to be performed:

 

1. Cost accounting and Financial accounting

• Computing cost of Production/Service in a scientific manner and facilitate cost reduction and cost control
• Finding out results of accounting year in the form of Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet

 

1. To ensure timely completion of budgeting & Forecasting

• Meeting concerned HODs of the company for obtaining the input for the budget.
• Preparation of draft budget along with P&L for decision making and finally sending the same for Directors approval.
• Circulation of the approved budget to the HODs for monitoring the monthly performance of their functions.
• Continuous monitoring of       

 

   3) To ensure timely signing of balance sheet

• Ensure availability of auditors for routine audits.
• Liaison with the external auditors.
• Ensure monthly closing of accounts in ERP system.
• Ensure timely completion of audited accounts. 

 

4) To ensure timely submission of accurate Management Performance Report

• Monitoring the availability of the MPR input data from the departments.
• Review of the MPR reports prepared by the subordinates, In order to ensure the accuracy.
• Analysis of the MPR report. 

 

5) Cost reduction in expenses

• Timely generation of monthly age wise sundry debtors outstanding.
• Review of age wise sundry debtors outstanding with sales officers.
• Ensuring accurate data is made available to credit monitoring of debtors.
• Comparison of actual cost vs budgeted cost on a monthly basis.
• Availing cash discount by early payments to suppliers.
• Negotiation with banks for reduction in bank charges and interest rate.

 

6) Ensuring statutory compliance and implementation of internal auditors’ suggestion for commercial area.

• To ensure timely statutory payments.
• To file timely statutory returns with ROC, IT, Sales Tax.
• Obtain the draft internal audit report and forwarded to the respective HODs for relevant response and discussion.
• Co-ordinate with the departments and auditors for analysis and discussion on the draft report.
• Monitoring of internal audit report recommendations for implementation.

 

7) Organization Development through systems

•  Monitors cGMP, ISO, TPM, 5S, internal audits, customers audits etc. effectively.

 

8) Development of associates

• Ensures timely goal setting and performance appraisal and ensures right feedback to the associates to improve the performance further.
• Ensures rewards commensurate with performance to create a culture of merit and fair treatment.
• Ensures formal and informal communication with the employees and initiates actions on the grievances to create a strong bond of relationships.

Plans the manpower by nos. and skills.  Initiate actions to develop multi skill.
