Full job description

5AM Ventures (“5AM”) is a leading investment firm focused on building next-generation life science companies capable of delivering outstanding returns to our investors. We support companies that are working to solve important healthcare needs via cutting-edge breakthroughs in medicine and science.

5AM was founded in 2002, has approximately $2.2 billion in capital commitments, and has invested in +170 companies to date. In addition to the venture funds, 5AM recently launched a new strategy investing in life science public companies and later stage private companies. The firm’s unique investment style and fully integrated platform employs fundamental primary research using a disciplined, process-oriented approach to both diligence and portfolio management.

\nYour Role

The Investor Relations Manager is a key member of the firm’s IR and fundraising team, serving as a primary point of contact for Limited Partners, managing all communications, onboarding, documentation access, and event engagement to ensure a best-in-class LP experience.

Working alongside the Head of Investor Relations, this role is responsible for managing core investor communication infrastructure, driving fundraising execution across multiple strategies, and ensuring a best-in-class experience for current and prospective Limited Partners.  This role blends strategic partnership with hands-on operational excellence, supporting pipeline management, investor communications, data governance, events, and marketing materials across the firm.

You will work cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and the Investment Team, acting as a central hub for information flow, data quality, and investor engagement.

Your Responsibilities

Investor Relations & CRM Leadership

  • Own the CRM (Dynamo) as the source of truth for all investor, prospect, and portfolio company data.
  • Manage fundraising pipelines for the Opportunities and Ventures funds, ensuring accuracy, timely updates, and visibility for senior leadership.
  • Oversee the monthly import and reconciliation of fund balances and transactions from fund administrators (e.g., HedgeServ).
  • Maintain high-quality investor records, including firm, contact, and opportunity-level data.
  • Track investor touchpoints, meeting notes, next steps, and event participation to support data-driven IR strategy.
  • Generate recurring and ad-hoc reports for IR, Finance, Legal, and Investment teams.

Data Rooms & Investor Documentation

  • Lead the setup, organization, and ongoing management of data rooms for fundraising and investor reporting.
  • Ensure all materials are uploaded, archived, and version-controlled across funds.
  • Manage investor access, onboarding, and permissions.
  • Maintain and update data room home pages and folder structures to support LP usability.

Fundraising Strategy & Execution

  • Maintain an accurate, real-time view of the fundraising pipeline; prepare pipeline summaries and insights for leadership.
  • Join select investor meetings to support content updates, pitchbook revisions, and follow-up execution.
  • Triage LP requests, coordinating responses across Finance, Legal, and the Investment Team.
  • Partner with senior IR leadership on DDQs, RFPs, questionnaires, and diligence materials.
  • Collaborate on drafting and updating Venture fundraising collateral and data room content.
  • Support the design and execution of fundraising roadshows for Opps and Ventures, including coordinating outreach, materials, schedules, and follow-ups.
  • Manage relationship with European placement agents to support international investor pipeline development.
  • Assist with investor onboarding:
    • Opportunities Fund: coordinate between LPs and fund admin to ensure smooth onboarding.
    • Venture Fund: support development of an online sub-document process and manage LP workflow.

Marketing Materials & Communications

  • Manage the creation, updating, formatting, and review process for all investor-facing materials, including:
    • Pitchbooks
    • Investor-specific presentations
    • Monthly Tear Sheets
    • Quarterly Letters
    • Webinar and Annual Meeting decks
    • Press releases and conference materials
  • Ensure all materials meet compliance standards, include required disclosures, and are properly logged and archived.
  • Oversee website updates, including team pages, portfolio company listings, press releases, and compliance-driven disclosures.
  • Partner with external developers on site enhancements and potential rebrand initiatives.
  • Manage the firm’s LinkedIn presence, coordinating with Compliance and supporting content development.

Event Management

  • Firm Events
    • Lead logistics and material creation for the Annual LP Meeting and other major investor events.
    • Plan and execute webinars, including branding, registration, speaker coordination, and post-event follow-up.
    • Manage hybrid event setups and vendor relationships to ensure secure and seamless participation.
    • Industry & Consortium Events
  • Maintain event materials, communications, contact lists, and timelines.
Your Background and Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of experience in investor relations, venture capital, private equity, or fund operations, with increasing scope and ownership.
  • Advanced CRM expertise, including system optimization, workflow creation, and data governance; Dynamo experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of fundraising strategy, LP engagement, due diligence processes, and investor onboarding frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives across Finance, Legal, Operations, and external partners.
  • Exceptional organizational and program management skills, with the ability to build scalable processes and manage competing priorities.
  • Sophisticated communication skills—capable of delivering clear, compelling materials and presenting effectively to internal leadership and external LPs.
  • Experience overseeing compliance-reviewed, investor-facing materials, quarterly reporting, and capital activity communications.
  • Proven ability to represent the firm with credibility in investor meetings, diligence discussions, and strategic partnership conversations.
  • High technical proficiency across CRM systems, Excel/modeling for IR needs, data rooms, Zoom, CMS platforms, and professional communication tools; comfortable evaluating and improving toolsets.
