Location: Lilleshall National Sports Centre, Newport, TF10 9AT

Salary: £25,846.76 plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Full-time 39 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 07.00-15.30 & Friday 07.00- 14.30. (additional hours/weekends to be worked as required by site events/weather” overtime paid)

As a Groundsperson in our Leisure team at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, you'll help maintain world-class grounds and sports facilities used by elite athletes, visitors, and local communities. Working outdoors in all weather conditions, you'll play an important role in ensuring our outdoor spaces remain safe, welcoming, and ready for use.

From maintaining grass pitches and woodland areas to supporting the wider grounds team, your work will have a visible impact every day. What you'll do as a Groundsperson

• Carry out day-to-day grounds maintenance across formal and informal landscaped areas, woodlands, and sports pitches.
• Operate and maintain a range of grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, and other machinery.
• Complete pre-use and post-use equipment checks and report any defects or breakdowns.
• Follow health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment for colleagues and visitors.
• Support the delivery of high-quality grounds and pitch standards for elite customers and members of the public.
• Work collaboratively with the Grounds Manager, Senior Groundsperson, and wider team to deliver operational requirements.

Does this sound like you?

• Previous experience working in a grounds maintenance, horticultural, or outdoor environment is preferred.
• A Level 1 or Level 2 Horticulture qualification is desirable, or you're willing to work towards one.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable.
• PA1 and PA6 certificates are preferred, or you're willing to gain these qualifications.
• You're physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work, repetitive tasks, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• You take pride in your work, have a positive attitude, and are keen to learn new skills.
• You're flexible and willing to support weekend events and changing business requirements.
