About this role

The Home Solutions Specialist is a field-facing technical and commercial sales role responsible for driving profitable growth, adoption, and execution of Schneider Electric's complete residential platform. The role has primary trade ownership for HVAC contractors, low-voltage contractors, integrators, and related channel partners, with electrical contractors serving as a secondary trade. The specialist remains capable of intelligently selling the full platform to all residential audiences and supports electrical contractors when opportunities involve home energy management and control solutions, multi-trade execution, or builder and remodeler implementations.

This role works in close coordination with Residential Sales Engineers and Home Builder Specialists. Home Builder Specialists create demand with builders and remodelers. The Home Solutions Specialist drives proactive engagement with their primary trade targets and also converts and supports the demand created at the builder and remodeler level, while Residential Sales Engineers retain primary ownership of electrical-contractor development. The two trade-facing roles may jointly manage hybrid companies and coordinate implementation support depending on the decision-making structure of these hybrid contractors when builder or remodeler opportunities require electrical, HVAC, and low-voltage execution.

Own HVAC and Low-Voltage Trade Development

  • Build, manage, and grow relationships with HVAC contractors, low-voltage contractors, structured-wiring firms, integrators, security and automation providers, and the distribution partners serving them.
  • Proactively identify qualified contractors and create account plans that move interest to repeatable adoption.
  • Reactively support trade accounts receiving interest or specifications from builder and remodeler customers.

Sell the Complete Residential Platform

  • Confidently position Schneider Electric's complete residential platform as an integrated solution rather than isolated products.
  • Develop working knowledge across home energy management, HVAC controls, residential connectivity, connected wiring devices, electrical distribution, EV charging, and adjacent future offers.
  • Translate platform capabilities into clear trade-specific value and coordinate the right internal resources.

Support Electrical Contractors as a Secondary Trade

  • Support electrical contractors when home energy management and control opportunities require coordinated technical guidance, installation readiness, commissioning, or customer handoff.
  • Partner with the Residential Sales Engineer, who retains primary electrical-contractor ownership, to define account leadership, responsibilities, and follow-through.
  • Provide implementation support for electrical contractors serving builder and remodeler programs, particularly when the project spans HVAC, low-voltage, and electrical scopes.
  • Use a unified platform story and coordinated field plan so secondary trade support strengthens, rather than duplicates, the RSE relationship.

Drive Pipeline Build through the Awareness, Interest Trial and Adoption/Conversion Cycle

  • Prioritize and execute on warm leads created by inside and technical sales teams
  • Lead discovery, presentations, demonstrations, competitive conversions, and contractor business reviews.
  • Provide white-glove support for pilots, first installations, and early deployments.
  • Deliver contractor and distributor training and coordinate issue escalation.

Coordinate Builder and Remodeler Pull-Through

  • Partner with Home Builder Specialists on builder, developer, and remodeler opportunities that create downstream demand for HVAC, low-voltage, and electrical trades.
  • Translate specifications into contractor action plans, training, field readiness, launch milestones, and installation follow-through.
  • Identify execution risk early and provide field feedback that improves scalability.

Collaborate on Hybrid Trade Accounts

  • Jointly plan and serve companies that combine electrical, HVAC, low-voltage, networking, or automation capabilities.
  • Coordinate with the RSE to assign the lead by relationship, opportunity scope, and technical need.
  • Use one platform narrative, coordinated call plan, and clear internal handoff to optimize triangle selling approach

Execute Through Channels and Internal Partners

  • Work with channel teams to align demand created at the builder/remodeler level with the preferred channel partners of affected HVAC and Low Voltage trades.
  • Coordinate with product, marketing, technical support, customer care, pricing, finance, and operations.
  • Maintain disciplined customer, opportunity, forecast, and account data.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated success in technical sales, field sales, business development, channel sales, or contractor-facing roles.
  • Relevant experience in residential technology, building systems, energy management, controls, construction, distribution, HVAC, low voltage, or systems integration.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to communicate with technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to prospect, develop accounts, manage opportunities, and convert interest into sustained adoption.
  • Strong communication, presentation, training, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel within an assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with contractors, integrators, distributors, builders, or remodelers.
  • Knowledge of connected residential systems, controls, energy management, installation workflows, and contractor economics.
  • Experience launching technology, supporting first installations, or scaling adoption.
  • Experience coordinating opportunities involving multiple trades and decision-makers.
  • Commercial judgment that balances growth, customer experience, quality, and profitability.

Success Measures

  • MBO (management by objective) pipeline build milestone and revenue attainment
  • Profitable growth within assigned accounts, markets, and channels.
  • New customer recruitment, conversion, activation, and repeat adoption.
  • Builder and remodeler specification pull-through into successful field execution to ensure first install success.
  • Pilot-to-scaled-deployment conversion and first-install quality.
  • Training effectiveness, opportunity progression, forecast quality, and customer experience.
  • Effective collaboration across the residential sales team and channel ecosystem.
