Quality Engineer II
About this role
Position Overview
As a Mid-Level QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of our Digital Banking Platform. Working as part of an Agile, cross-functional engineering team, you will collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Owners and DevOps Engineers to deliver high-quality software through modern engineering practices.
This is not a traditional testing role. We believe quality is a shared engineering responsibility, and our QA Engineers are expected to contribute throughout the Software Development Lifecycle by designing test strategies, developing automation, analysing risks and continuously improving the quality of both our products and our engineering processes.
Responsibilities
- Participating in story refinement sessions to identify quality risks and ensure requirements are clear and testable.
- Designing effective test strategies using an appropriate balance of unit, component, integration, API and end-to-end testing.
- Developing and maintaining automated tests for web, mobile and backend services.
- Performing exploratory and risk-based testing where automation is not appropriate.
- Investigating defects, performing root cause analysis and working closely with developers to resolve issues.
- Contributing to Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing pipelines to provide fast and reliable feedback.
- Validating application functionality, integrations, analytics and business workflows across multiple platforms.
- Supporting release activities through regression testing, smoke testing and production verification.
- Identifying opportunities to improve testability, automation frameworks and engineering processes.
- Leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity, automation development and test analysis.

Experience with every technology isn't expected, but you should be comfortable learning new tools and technologies.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone with approximately 3–6 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering who enjoys solving technical problems and has a passion for software quality.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience developing automated tests using Java, JavaScript, TypeScript or a similar programming language.
- Strong understanding of API testing and modern web technologies.
- Experience testing web or mobile applications in Agile environments.
- Good knowledge of SQL and database validation.
- Familiarity with Git and Continuous Integration pipelines.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
