Position Summary

The Through-Hole Assembly Operator is responsible for assembling electronic components onto printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) using manual insertion techniques. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow assembly documentation, and adherence to quality and workmanship standards to ensure reliable electronic products.

The operator will work closely with Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure assemblies meet production requirements and customer specifications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform manual insertion of through-hole electronic components into printed circuit boards according to assembly documentation
    • Follow work instructions, assembly drawings, and bills of material (BOMs)
    • Identify correct component types, polarity, and orientation prior to insertion
    • Prepare assemblies for wave solder or selective solder processes
    • Perform lead forming, trimming, and component preparation as required
    • Inspect work to ensure compliance with workmanship standards
    • Maintain ESD compliance and proper handling procedures for electronic components
    • Report component shortages, defects, or process issues to supervisors or engineering
    • Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with manufacturing standards
    • Support production goals by maintaining quality and throughput requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to follow assembly instructions and documentation
    • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
    • Ability to identify component polarity and orientation
    • Basic understanding of electronic components and PCB assemblies
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
    • Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in electronics manufacturing or PCBA assembly
    • Familiarity with through-hole component insertion and lead forming
    • Knowledge of ESD handling practices
    • Certification or familiarity with IPC-A-610

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
    • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally

Work Environment

This position operates in an electronics manufacturing environment and requires adherence to ESD and safety protocols.

 

Pay Range
$21$22 USD
