About this role

Rilla is seeking a Software Engineer to build end-to-end features across the stack at speed. You’ll join as an early technical steward, elevating code quality and decision-making as we scale and solve real-world problems at scale. This role offers the opportunity to shape our engineering culture and grow with the company.

What youll do

  • Ship high-quality products rapidly.
  • Help design and implement new features from scratch to advance the technical roadmap.
  • Develop user-centric solutions with empathy, often in loosely defined projects.
  • Raise the bar for code quality and technical decisions to set standards as we scale.
  • Grow with the company, expanding ownership and capabilities.
  • Contribute to recruiting efforts to grow the team.

What Rilla is looking for

  • Based in NYC and able to work in-person five days a week.
  • Strong CS fundamentals; Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in React, React Native, TypeScript, and Python.
  • Experience working at a talent-dense startup or demonstrated entrepreneurial drive.
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in a fast-paced startup building 0-1 products.
  • Experience deploying infrastructure in AWS and working with cloud infrastructure.
  • Previous engagement in hackathons, entrepreneurship clubs, or VC fellowships.
