About the role

As an R&D Category Assistant at Reckitt, you’ll be part of a dynamic R&D environment, working alongside experienced scientists to support the development of safe, effective, and high-quality products. Your attention to detail and hands-on laboratory skills will play an important role in supporting analytical testing, technical documentation, and laboratory compliance.
You’ll support a variety of R&D activities, including laboratory testing, test method development and validation, stability studies, sample preparation, and day-to-day laboratory operations. Working closely with the R&D Senior Associate, you’ll contribute to an efficient and reliable analytical laboratory while gaining valuable experience across product development and testing.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory testing and generate, record, and report accurate experimental data in line with established procedures.
  • Support the development, verification, validation, and transfer of analytical test methods for New Product Development and site technology transfer.
  • Ensure laboratory activities comply with applicable quality requirements, including ISO/IEC 17025, GMP, laboratory policies, and good documentation practices.
  • Support laboratory equipment readiness, including ensuring equipment is maintained and calibrated according to schedule.
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory documentation, including test methods, SOPs, test reports, validation and verification protocols/reports, and method transfer documentation.
  • Support stability studies and activities, including sample inventory and movement, stability chamber management, and handling of process non-conformances.
  • Apply a “Right First Time” mindset and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance laboratory quality, efficiency, and performance.
  • Build scientific and technical knowledge through training, self-learning, and sharing analytical best practices across Reckitt sites.
  • Support other R&D and laboratory activities as assigned by the line manager.

The experience we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Material Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with wet chemistry and analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, and FTIR; experience in rubber testing would be an advantage.
  • Experience working in an ISO 13485, ISO/IEC 17025, or GLP laboratory environment, with a good understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and chromatography software such as Empower.

The skills for success

  • Good IT skills and confidence working with analytical laboratory equipment and systems.
  • Good command of English, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and positive approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage priorities, and perform well under pressure.
