Senior Assembler

The Position
We are seeking an experienced and energetic Senior Assembler to support our Manufacturing Department. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication and organizational skills, be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work efficiently. The Senior Assembler is responsible for efficient and accurate assembly, preparation of parts and testing of a wide variety of products using the Bill of Material, drawings and other documentation included in the traveler package. Additionally, the Senior Assembler will help train partners and help develop processes.
This role is on-site, 5 days a week. Remote option is not available.

Essential Functions
- Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.
- Ability to select and insert electronic components onto PCB boards.
- Assemble electrical or electronic systems and support structures; install components, units, sub-assemblies, wiring, and assembly casings, using electric/pneumatic drivers or any applicable hand tools.
- Ability to perform quality solder touch up on leaded and lead free assemblies. Includes ability to populate PTF assemblies as required.
- Able to assemble, install or repair frames, mixers, computer housings, mic stations and heat sinks.
- Perform routine Quality Control checks; identify and remove/replace/repair any defects or non-conformities. Inspect boards for proper assembly including missing parts, solder quality and clipped leads.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and perform routine inventory audits.
- Clean parts and assemblies, using cleaning solutions, air hoses etc.
- Mark and tag components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identified.
- Perform test function by reading instrument dial, scope and observe viewing screen that indicates resistance, capacitance, continuity and wave pattern or defect. Conduct routine and repetitive tests on circuits, components and electronic units following established test procedures.
Essential Tasks
- Document assembly process including labor, part shortages, quality issues and recommendations for improvement.
- Ability to train on all products.
- Pack finished assemblies for shipment and transport them to storage areas, using hoists or hand trucks.
- Confer with supervisors to plan and review work activities, resolve Production issues, and maintain adequate stock levels on supplies.
- Complete, review, and maintain production time and component waste reports.
Education
High School Diploma or General Education Degree
Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with and the ability to use appropriate hand tools required for electrical, electronic and mechanical assembly
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with soldering, thru hole and surface mount
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with board building
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with product testing
Previous working knowledge of ISO Processes and Documentation
Computer Skills
Ability to learn MiTek’s internal computer systems
Other Requirements
Ability to work overtime as required/requested – including but not limited to before and after shift and on Saturdays
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
