Production Repair Technician
About this role
We are seeking an experienced and energetic Production Repair Technician to support our Manufacturing Department. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication, analytical skills, organizational skills, be self-motivated, able to multi-task and work efficiently. The Production Repair Technician is responsible for electrical troubleshooting and testing. The position will perform troubleshooting and debugging on computer-controlled test hardware, then document the findings. The Production Repair Technician will ensure that repaired products meet the quality standards in accordance with ISO guidelines. The position must follow the documented procedures as outlined.
This role is on-site, 5 days a week. Remote option is not available.

Essential Functions
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of various industrial analog and digital modules and devices at the component level, set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
- Review “in process failure” for root cause and determine how product failure was missed during first pass. Provide results for engineering with proposed possible QA test procedures.
- Ability to rework boards using hot air rework, lead free soldering, fine pitch soldering, reflow soldering and standard soldering techniques.
- Training partners on defects and repairs.
- Ability to follow the written work instructions and Operation standards.
- Ability to support and meet production goals.
- Support production with wave soldering and select soldering.
Essential Tasks
- Record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment and specifications to assist engineers.
- Procure parts and maintain inventory and related documentation.
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
- Assist engineering with prototype builds.
- Identify and implement Corrective Actions for Manufacturing errors found during root cause analysis.
- Prioritize work to meet production/sales needs.
Education
Associate’s Degree or higher in electronics or equivalent of some education and experience
Experience
Minimum of three years’ experience with software/hardware testing
Minimum of three years' experience with electrical troubleshooting in a factory setting
Minimum of three years' experience troubleshooting and debugging computer-controlled hardware
Skills
- Proficient use with MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to diagnose and understand network issues is a plus
- Ability to create procedures using Audio Precision or other third-party computer software
- Ability to follow directions, processes and procedures
- Ability to learn MiTek’s internal computer systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and test equipment
- Supervisory/leadership experience or ability
- Use of Test equipment
- Must be adept at soldering/de-soldering both Surface Mount and Through-hole comp
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
