Position Summary
The Cabinet Specialist is responsible for the assembly, fabrication, inspection, and finishing of speaker cabinets and metal enclosures used in AtlasIED commercial audio products. This position ensures cabinets are built according to engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble speaker cabinets, metal enclosures, and related components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and production specifications.
- Meet established production goals for efficiency, quality, and on-time completion while maintaining consistent workmanship and minimizing rework or defects.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic equipment, and other manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Install hardware, insulation, acoustic materials, wiring components, brackets, grills, and other cabinet accessories.
- Verify dimensions, fit, and finish using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges.
- Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
- Identify and report material defects, equipment issues, or process concerns to the Production Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
- Follow Lean Manufacturing principles and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies and OSHA requirements.
- Assist in cross-functional manufacturing activities as production demands require.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of manufacturing, assembly, woodworking, sheet metal fabrication, or related experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, and basic blueprints.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Repetitive use of hands and arms while assembling products.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience assembling speaker cabinets, audio equipment, or metal enclosures.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles.
- Experience using production documentation or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of quality inspection processes and manufacturing best practices.
