About this role

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a materials team member in new process and product development.
  • Support supply base / commodity strategies consistent with business initiatives and SRM ideology. (Supplier relationship Management).
  • Engage and support site procurement teams to identify part supply constraints that may impact production schedule and create mitigation plans.
  • Complete supplier and cost/benefit analysis in order to support selecting the best supplier and optimum supply chain.
  • Create cost models for key commodity areas of responsibility.  Support senior strategic commodity management team to negotiate price and contract agreements. Ensure key contractual reductions are realized.
  • Implement and support tailored development plans for strategic supplier and potential suppliers.
  • Continually optimizing supply chain in respect to price, inventory, continuity of supply (COS), term and conditions.
  • Ensure adherence to internal standards and practices; Manage all aspects of assigned commodities – commodity strategies, market conditions, technology roadmaps, and should cost creation.
  • Work with team to develop practices that enhance teamwork, efficiency, and effectiveness. 
  • Provides data in multiple formats (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.) to management team as required.
  • Collaborate with buyer/planners to deliver products successfully and efficiently to our customers.
  • Perform special projects as requested.

 

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience: 

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Minimum 8 years’ experience in Strategic Procurement and Commodity Management with proven experience in developing and executing on Category Strategies and Vendor Management process for spend up to $30 million.
  • Deep understanding of complex engineering quality issues caused by material or manufacturing processes and related solutions.
  • Prior experience utilizing the Agile system; ERP Systems (e.g. Oracle, other) with an emphasis on MRP systems and demonstrated results in materials shortage management and inventory control.
  • Results oriented, metrics driven leader with a root cause, permanent and continuous improvement approach.
  • Must be a team player committed to working in a cross-functional team environment and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals.
  • Strong demonstrated communication, negotiation, and customer satisfaction skills.
  • Some domestic and international travel required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated discretionary professional development in Procurement and Category Management field; CSCP, CPSM, CIPS.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Proven cost reduction track record and Project management skill’s preferred.
  • Strong writing and speaking skills in English.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or 8 + years of related experience. MBA preferred.

Physical requirements/Work Environment 

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking.  Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required.  May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.  Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required. Some domestic and international travel is also required.
