About this role

Logitech is the Sweet Spot for people who want their actions to have a positive global impact while having the flexibility to do it in their own way.

The Teams and Role:

The CMF Lead Engineer owns colour, material and finish (CMF) development for Logitech PWS products

from concept to mass production, with a special focus on Healthcare products. The role is split evenly

between two missions:

Your contribution:

A · Materials Innovation (~50%)

● Lead materials development for Healthcare products: chemical and disinfectant resistance (e.g. alcohol, quaternary ammonium, hypochlorite and hydrogen peroxide wipes), cleanability, antimicrobial options and skin-contact suitability.

● Define test methods and run material characterisation and reliability testing (abrasion, chemical / wipe durability, sweat and sunscreen, UV / QUV, adhesion, colour stability); analyse failures and drive root cause.

● Work with material and finishing suppliers on formulation, process windows and cost, from lab sample to production-ready recipe.

● Build fast prototypes and sample kits so Design, Marketing and project teams can see, touch and decide early.

● Write findings into CMF standards, design guidelines and the CMF library.

B · NPI CMF Execution (~50%)

● Translate ID / CMF design intent and marketing concepts into feasible CMF specifications, drawings and CMF documents.

● Own CMF engineering through the NPI phases (EVT, DVT, PVT, MP): process selection, DFM review,

supplier trials, first-article and golden-sample approval, cosmetic specs and yield ramp.

● Develop and control decorative processes: spray painting (incl. soft-touch and UV coatings), pad /screen printing, IMD / IML, laser marking and etching, mould texturing (chemical and laser), anodizing, PVD / NCVM and plating.

● Manage colour from target to production: colour standards, spectrophotometer and light-booth.

evaluation, ΔE and gloss tolerances, metamerism control and colour matching across materials and suppliers.

● Resolve CMF issues on the line with suppliers and factory teams (China, Vietnam and partner sites) and protect launch schedules.

● Balance appearance, durability, compliance and cost, and propose design-for-cost alternatives when needed.

C · Technical Leadership

● Act as the go-to CMF expert for Healthcare products and contribute to the CMF SME program (e.g. Paint, Ink & Coating, Hard Plastic, Texture & Tooling benches).

● Partner with ID, ME, Quality, Regulatory, Sourcing and Product Management across Asia and EMEA.

Key Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree or above in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering or a related field.

● 7+ years of CMF engineering or materials development experience in consumer electronics (3C) or electronic products, including several full NPI cycles to mass production.

● Colour theory: solid knowledge of colour science, colour measurement (CIELAB, ΔE, gloss), light sources and metamerism, and colour standard management.

● CMF processes: hands-on experience with most of: painting, printing, laser marking, texturing, IMD / IML, anodizing, PVD / plating.

● Materials: strong understanding of engineering plastics (PC, ABS, PC/ABS, PA), elastomers (TPU, TPE, silicone), coatings and inks, and common metals (aluminium, stainless steel).

● Experience with CMF reliability and durability testing and failure analysis.

● Proficient written and spoken English; able to work with global teams and suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Healthcare industry: experience with healthcare or medical electrical products is strongly preferred.

● Familiarity with healthcare material requirements: disinfectant / cleaning-agent compatibility,

biocompatibility for skin contact (ISO 10993 awareness) and the medical electrical equipment environment (IEC 60601-1 awareness).

● Knowledge of material compliance: RoHS, REACH, PFAS restrictions, UL 94 flammability.

● Experience with sustainable materials (PCR / bio-based resins, low-VOC or waterborne coatings).

● Supplier development experience with paint, ink, resin or texturing suppliers in Greater China.

Key Competencies:

● Technical depth with judgement: knows when to push innovation and when to pick the proven process to protect the launch.

● Structured problem solving: data-driven root cause analysis, clear test plans.

● Influence without authority: aligns Design, Engineering and suppliers on one CMF decision.

● Ownership and pace: drives multiple NPIs and innovation topics in parallel.
