Overview

The Loan Operations Business Application Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day loan servicing of commercial and/or consumer loans, including participation loans.  The role ensures accurate loan processing, timely remittance of funds, compliance with credit agreements and effective communication with agents, participants and internal partners. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Service both commercial, including participations and agent loans, and consumer loans; in accordance with credit agreements, participation agreements and internal policies.
  • Process loan funding, paydowns, rate changes, repricing and commitment extensions.
  • Calculate and apply interest, fees, and principal payments.
  • Prepare and distribute loan notices, payment advices, and funding requests to participant banks.
  • Support onboarding of new facilities and amendments.
  • Communicate effectively with internal business partners and participants.
  • Monitor system reports for accuracy and resolve any exceptions.
  • Reconcile loan general ledger accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies, exceptions and cash differences.
  • Ongoing monitoring of Flood Insurance on all RE Secured loans designated in a flood Zone. Ensure Current and correct flood insurance is received and information is input into loan system. Execute Force Place insurance process on any lapsed or cancelled policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • 1 - 3 years’ bank experience highly desirable; loan operations/loan support role preferred
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Requires the ability to effectively research and solve problems independently.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and be able to function in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to collaborate in an agile team environment.
