What You’ll Be Part Of

This senior role in Category Sourcing is an individual contributor responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives across assigned categories.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Provide strategic sourcing expertise and innovative approaches to optimize global sourcing effectiveness for Passive Components and Distribution.
• Act as a global supplier owner for assigned manufactures and distribution suppliers; overseas, conduct and actively manage and improve the end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement process.
• Lead to define and implement global supplier and distribution strategy with strong collaboration across the organization.
• Ensure expedient and compliant implementation of contracts throughout organization.
• Accountable for vendor master and purchasing price and terms updates and maintenance in the system.
• Lead continuous supplier negotiations and Total Cost Ownership (TCO) management across the entire supplier portfolio, driving const competitiveness, value creation, and commercial performance.
• Actively source, evaluate and identify market trends and new technologies, make appropriate fact-based recommendations for adoption by HARMAN stakeholders, to support building product roadmap.
• Establish strong vendor relationships, effectively manage category supply base, perform advanced and intricate negotiations, and oversee selection of key vendors.
• Lead to manage vendor and internal performance (Supplier Performance Scorecard) against contracts, industry benchmarks, and previous baselines on a regular basis (QBR).
• Actively support and / or lead NPI development by securing sourcing deliverables with supplier selection, RFQ and continuous cost improvements.
• Coordinate and work with both corporate and regional stakeholders to standardize corporate-wide product specifications and establish and implement long-term strategic goals to continually enhance HARMAN’s market position.
• Develop and deliver good quality management reports and present with senior management.

What Makes You A Strong Fit

• 8+ years of direct materials sourcing experience supporting semiconductor commodities from NPI through end-of-life cycle.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain or business administration.
• Self-driven and business centric
• Minimum 10+ years of sourcing and procurement experience.
• Prior experience in sourcing and negotiating semiconductor components (Memory, Logic, ICs, or related electronic components) using strategic management techniques.
• Must possess the social intelligence to influence and lead at the senior levels within the organization.
• Proven record in successfully using benchmarking and cost analysis tools to deliver negotiation outcomes to exceed the market index.
• Solid experiences in supplier sourcing, supplier performance management, negotiation, contract development/analysis, supplier evaluation, price/cost analysis.
• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
• Solid understanding of risk management techniques.
