The Machinist performs all machining, refurbishment, precision repair, dimensional inspection and operational testing in support of the U.S. Navy’s Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program on-base.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Conduct machining, refurbishment, precision repair, dimensional inspection, tooling support, dynamic balancing and operational testing
· Support depot-level component repair, balancing, machining, and return to service verification
· Perform routine work with limited to no supervision or instruction
· Ability to take on new assignments with general instructions
· Apply industry knowledge to various programs and projects ensuring successful completion
· Use knowledge of industry standard policies, procedures and practical applications to complete job tasks
· Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
Education:
· High School Degree Required
Licenses & Certifications:
· Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain an interim clearance required
· Matching certification preferred
Experience:
· Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in similar position
· Experience and training in safety
· Knowledge and experience in dynamic balancing and precision measurement tools
Skills & Abilities:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
· Ability to install, assemble, and configure new mechanical or refrigeration systems
· Ability to troubleshoot using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and fix issues
· Ability to work with various levels of personnel
· Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Other:
· Ability to work onsite 5 days per week with additional hours, as required
