About this role
We are looking for a Development Engineer, Solid Rocket Motors with 5–15 years of experience to own solid rocket motor development across every Furientis interceptor program. You're a hands-on, fast-moving engineer who has taken motors from concept to hot fire. Reporting to co-founder Eris, you'll be the company's first dedicated solid rocket motor engineer. The rockets are already flying, and you'll help build out the propulsion team.
What will you be doing?
- Driving solid rocket motor architecture, grain design, and internal ballistics across several interceptor systems, including dual-pulse designs
- Working with mechanical, propellant, and manufacturing engineers on motor designs and new propellant chemistries
- Building motors, then running ground and flight tests in the desert, with tests roughly every two weeks
- Analyzing test data to improve performance models and adjust designs after every fire
- Doing quick concept work on new motor sizes for customer and contract opportunities
