Job DetailsJob Location: CV - Castlevale - Yakima, WA 98902Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $20.00 - $20.00 HourlyProvide daily and ongoing cleaning, sanitation and janitorial services to the Head Start centers in accordance with established health and safety standards, ensuring that the work complies in accordance with Head Start performance standards, USDA requirements, state licensing requirements and agency policies and procedures.
Job responsibilities
• Perform routine custodial and sanitation duties in classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, entryways, kitchens, and other program areas.
• Empty trash and recycling, replace liners, vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and spot clean surfaces to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment.
• Clean, sanitize, and disinfect sinks, toilets, counters, mirrors, doors, handles, windows, and other high-touch areas on a regular basis.
• Safely clean and disinfect bodily fluids, including vomit, blood, and other accidents, in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Restock restroom and facility supplies, including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and related dispensers, and notify the Lead Custodian when cleaning or facility supplies are running low.
• Complete periodic deep-cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing, window washing, and detailed cleaning of surfaces and common areas.
• Assist kitchen staff with cleaning support duties, including garbage removal, floor care, and cleaning of trash receptacles and glass surfaces.
• Maintain outdoor areas by removing debris, sweeping sidewalks and entryways, cleaning exterior surfaces, and supporting playground and lawn upkeep.
• Ensure facilities are properly secured at the end of the day by locking doors and gates, closing windows and blinds, turning off lights, and setting security systems.

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors; adverse weather conditions present, depending on the season.

• Ability to lift 20 pounds or a maximum of 50 pounds with dolly.

Conditions of Employment
Prior to employment, complete a pre-employment drug screen, Tb skin test by an EPIC approved healthcare provider at no cost to the employee.
Pre-employment basic physical by an EPIC healthcare provider (obtain within (30) days of employment and no cost to the employee).
Must pass an initial and periodic background check through the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF).
Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/ or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella.
Current Food Handlers card (obtain the training within 30 days of employment).
Current First Aid/CPR card (obtain within thirty 30 days of employment).
Complete Childcare Basics 30 hours STARS training within 3 months of hire
Complete Child Abuse and Neglect training and all other mandated training.

Qualifications1. High School Degree or GED.
- Must have the ability to do record keeping and basic arithmetic.
- Two years of previous custodial experience, with knowledge of appropriate use of cleaning chemicals, and proper health and safety practices.
- Ability to physically operate floor stripper, buffer & carpet shampooer
- Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Posses a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation and required auto insurance.
