Job Description

Come join our amazing Darwin team who genuinely value wellbeing and doing quality work.

If you’re a qualified Occupational Therapist seeking your next role and value a wellness focused workplace where people truly care, this could be the opportunity for you.

At IPAR Darwin, we prioritise a supportive, health‑focused culture with regular team poke bowl lunches, corporate massages, in‑house sound bath meditation and breathwork, plus a dedicated rest and recharge space with a walking pad. Movement during the day is very much encouraged!

This opportunity stands out from a typical Rehabilitation Consultant role due to the diverse range of services and client groups you will work with. In addition to workplace rehabilitation, you will gain experience across aged care and community-based OT services, ergonomic assessments, and Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) home assessments, with comprehensive training provided across all service areas.

You will also be involved in delivering IPAR’s innovative Re-thinking Recovery program, which uses virtual reality and contemporary pain science to support clients in understanding and managing persistent pain. This program is delivered in collaboration with the client’s broader healthcare team to ensure a holistic, client-centred approach.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a varied caseload across workplace rehabilitation, aged care, and community-based services (with support from Rehabilitation Assistants to reduce administrative load);
  • Supporting clients with injury, illness, or age-related needs to improve function, independence at home, and return to work where applicable;
  • Conducting Activities of Daily Living (ADL) assessments in the home and community, including for aged care and DVA clients, with recommendations for equipment, home modifications, and support services;
  • Completing ergonomic and workplace assessments to optimise safety and function;
  • Assisting those with an injury or health condition to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes;
  • Liaising with employers, case managers, medical professionals, and insurers to ensure aligned and effective rehabilitation outcomes;
  • Working across a range of schemes including workers compensation, compulsory third party (CTP), life insurance, Comcare, and DVA;
  • Delivering high-quality, timely reports with clear clinical reasoning and practical recommendations.

We welcome new graduates to apply.

Check out our company video if you want to see what IPAR is all about!

Qualifications

Our new team member will have:

  • A qualification in Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
  • Full Professional Registration with AHPRA or Full Professional Accreditation with ESSA or eligibility to obtain
  • Strong communication skills to build and develop relationships
  • Excellent time management skills - be able to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
  • A desire to problem solve with the confidence to be innovative, use initiative and achieve results
  • A passion for injury prevention, return to work and the associated health benefits
  • A current driver licence and access to their own vehicle
