Req ID:517035
At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.
Could you be the full-time Train Functional Architect in Crespin we’re looking for?
Your future role:
Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in designing control systems and their sub-system interactions, ensuring that our Rolling Stock projects meet customer requirements. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Train Level, Safety and Availability teams, sub-systems, and software design teams), define technical aspects of control systems, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects.
You’ll specifically take care of developing functional train architectures and validating them through simulation, but also support the integration and testing of these systems.
We’ll look to you for:
Analyzing, clarifying, and consolidating all applicable functional requirements at the train level
Elaborating train functional architectures (command and control, with low voltage and software design) with a focus on Safety and Availability
Developing and selecting suitable functional architectures, concepts, and design solutions through trade-off studies
Ensuring timely decisions regarding functional architectures and system technologies to meet project milestones
Issuing complete and correct functional specifications and interfaces for projects
Specifying software solutions and overseeing their development, verification, and testing
Validating functional designs through simulation and defining test specifications
Reporting progress, risks, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to functional architectures, software specifications, and project validation
All about you:
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
7+ years of relevant experience in system design, system analysis, sub-systems analysis, configuration management, and product management
Mastery of both high-level and low-level functionalities
Experience in electrical, electro-mechanical, or automation engineering, preferably in industries such as railway, transport (automotive, aviation, aerospace), industrial projects, or nuclear plant environments
Knowledge of software development, testing, and verification
Ability to manage international projects with multiple teams in remote mode
Fluency in English with excellent communication skills
Availability to travel and an interest in working in multicultural environments
Things you’ll enjoy:
Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:
Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines
Work with new security standards for rail signalling
Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues
Contribute to innovative projects
Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment
Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries
Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning
Progress towards leadership or technical expert roles
Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)
You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
