PS provides the scientific and technical foundation required to advance innovative medicines from early development through clinical supply, regulatory support, and commercialization readiness.
Biotherapeutics Process Development (BPD) is a global organization responsible for biologics drug substance process development, scale-up, and clinical manufacturing support across development stages. Operating across sites in the United States and Japan, BPD brings together expertise in process development, in-process analytics, technical transfer, clinical manufacturing support, and analytical development to advance innovative biologic medicines from early development through clinical supply and regulatory support.
Early In-Process Analytics is a newly established analytical testing organization within Drug Substance Operations responsible for supporting process development, pilot operations, and GMP manufacturing activities through in-process analytical testing. The organization works closely with Global IPA, Process Development, Drug Substance Operations (particularly Drug Substance Technical Transfer & Clinical Manufacturing Execution), and Biologics Analytical Development & Quality Control (Biologics AD & QC) within Analytical Development across the global Biotherapeutics Process Development organization to enable method implementation, analytical testing, and data-driven development and manufacturing decisions.
職務内容
- Lead the Early In-Process Analytics function by defining strategy, standards, and testing plans for process development and GMP sample testing.
- Manage method transfer and implementation from Analytical Development, including Biologics AD & QC, for platform methods and molecule-specific assays.
- Oversee method qualification, verification, and validation activities to meet regulatory and quality requirements for GMP testing.
- Collaborate closely with Global IPA to align analytical methods, data formats, reporting expectations, and operational workflows across regions.
- Design and execute analytical experiments and testing plans to support process characterization, troubleshooting, and scale-up decisions.
- Ensure data integrity, maintain sample chain-of-custody, and prepare technical reports and documentation to support development, quality reviews, and regulatory submissions.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary laboratory team, set objectives, delegate responsibilities, and maintain clear communication with development and manufacturing partners.
- Work with automation and digitalization colleagues to support commissioning and qualification of laboratory and process analytics equipment, automation, and data systems.
- Drive continuous improvement in IPA workflows, sample handling, turnaround time, data management, and documentation practices while balancing quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.

＜学歴＞
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, biology, analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, or related pharmaceutical sciences required. PhD preferred. Significant relevant industry experience in biologics process development, analytical sciences, or related disciplines is required.

- Ten or more years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical development, process analytics, or related laboratory science, including experience in regulated GMP environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and programs with responsibility for staffing, priority setting, delivery, and talent development.
- Proven track record in method transfer, qualification, validation, and troubleshooting for both platform and molecule-specific assays.
- Hands-on experience testing development samples and manufacturing samples, including appropriate sample handling and chain-of-custody practices.
- Experience collaborating across regions and functions to harmonize methods, specifications, and data reporting.

- Experience with laboratory automation and data management systems; experience specifying, commissioning, and qualifying laboratory and process analytics equipment is preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate analytical results into actionable development decisions.
