A Brief Overview :

The Credit Administration Specialist is responsible for effectively supporting the Business Unit's efforts to ensure Bank’s collateral is properly insured.  This staff is instrumental in providing overall support to credit administration tasks of the different portfolios in a centralized, standardized, and consistent manner, thus reducing risks and improving controls.

 

What You’ll Need to Succeed :

  • Provides support in the administration of the commercial credit portfolio by reviewing insurance policies renewal schedules, endorsement expirations, and compliance documentation. Notifies insureds and brokers about required information or documents needed to keep policies, endorsements, and risk files updated and in good standing. Maintains follow‑ups on pending documentation and once received, ensures timely resolution of insurance covenants and uploading in the FB Commercial Hub (FBCH) Platform.
  • Provides assistance and/or prepares reports, statistics, tables, and presentations as required by supervisor/management.
  • Contribute to process optimization, identifying opportunities to streamline monitoring and resolution processes by taking advantage of structure/system capabilities.
  • Prepares routine and advance correspondence, including e-mails, letters, memoranda and reports related to expired insurance policies, renewals, and special projects communications. 

Insurance

  • Review insurance policies to ensure coverage and proper endorsement.
  • Maintains an insurance policy database (type, coverage, insurance company, maturity, payment up to date, etc.) to ensure proper management of risk, follow-ups and renewals of policies at maturity. Keeps the Insurance covenants up to date.
  • Ensure Flood Insurance compliance by sending letters to customers within the established period. Force place Flood Insurance policies as deemed necessary.
  • Obtains insurance company confirmation of endorsement and payment.
  • Empowered to cure and manage insurance situations with borrowers, while maintaining the Relationship Officer (RO) informed; with the exception of SAG where RO continues to be the main contact.
  • Provides support to external and internal examiners.
  • Support Management with periodic reviews and updates of procedures.
  • Periodic monitoring and review of documents pending approval at the FB Commercial Hub (FBCH) Platform. 
  • Safeguards the information related to the job.
  • Prepares routine and advance correspondence, including e-mails, letters, memoranda and reports.
  • Participates in staff meetings and individual coaching sessions, as needed.
  • Assist in the Department’s special projects and activities identified by management.

 

Competencies:

  • Computer proficient, especially in Excel, Word, and Power Point.  Job requires extensive use of Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in both English and Spanish.
  • Good analytical, problem solving and mathematic skills. 
  • Quality: Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Strong attention to details and ability to learn quickly.
  • Thorough knowledge of all banking services and products, commercial operating systems and familiar with documentation used, applicable rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Knowledge of banking laws, including but not limited to Flood Insurance, Bank Secrecy Act, among others.
  • Teamwork: Contributes to build a positive team spirit. Integration with peer departments.
  • Good planning and organization; follows policies and procedures and completes administrative tasks correctly and on a timely basis.  Ability to meet deadlines with little supervision.
  • Ethics: Treats people with respect and upholds organizational values maintaining composure, tact and courtesy that could be routinely high volume and demanding.

 

What You’ll Need:

·        A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration preferably with a concentration in Finance or Accounting, is required for this position.

·       Two (2) years of experience in Commercial Banking Operations. 

·       Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

·       Write, speak and understand English. 

·       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

·       Customer Service oriented. 

·       Available to work overtime, when required. 

·       Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize daily tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
