Founding Engineer
Berlin · On-siteEquity
About this role
Delvo is hiring a Founding Engineer to join the early product team in Berlin and help build an AI-first supply chain product that connects category managers to real-time supplier data and enterprise systems. You’ll own core product areas end-to-end, influence architecture and engineering culture, and ship iteratively with direct customer feedback to create lasting impact.
What youll do
- Own core product areas end-to-end, from AI agent orchestration to the UI that category managers use daily.
- Design reliable LLM workflows with evaluation loops, guardrails, and observability that work in production.
- Build real-time supplier data pipelines, normalization, and integrations with enterprise ERP systems.
- Ship to production daily and collaborate directly with customers to iterate based on real feedback.
- Make architectural decisions across the full stack focused on performance, security, and developer experience.
- Define engineering culture, tooling, and processes as the team grows.
- Contribute to the product roadmap and work closely with founders on major technical decisions.
- Mentor teammates and help shape a path to engineering leadership as Delvo scales.
What Delvo is looking for
- Strong full-stack foundation with attention to interfaces, back-ends, and the seam between them.
- Proficient in TypeScript and Python; experience with Next.js and modern APIs.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, retrieval, embeddings, and trade-offs around latency, cost, and quality.
- Proven ability to design production-grade ML/AI workflows with monitoring and safety guardrails.
- Experience building data pipelines, normalization, and integrations with enterprise systems (ERP/procurement context is a bonus).
- Builder mindset: you default to shipping, learning from users, and iterating fast.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to define what to build as well as how to build it.
