Position: Manager 1 - Cyber Security Operations

Experience: 12 years to 15 years

Job Location: Chennai Tamil Nadu

This is a cyber defense leadership role at real scale: complex infrastructure, customer-impacting services, major incidents, advanced threats, and one of the largest technology environments in the world.

I’m looking for a leader who has operated in high-consequence environments and knows how to improve outcomes, not just report activity.

The strongest candidates will bring:

1. Strong incident command judgment in ambiguous, high-pressure situations

2. Deep experience across SOC operations, incident response, threat hunting, threat intel and detection

3. Experience with advanced threats, including nation-state activity, targeted intrusions, ransomware, identity compromise, lateral movement, and long-dwell investigations

4. The ability to lead highly technical analysts, responders, hunters, detection engineers, and platform partners

5. An engineering partnership mindset to improve the tools, telemetry, automation, detections, and workflows operators use every day

6. Clear written communication for incident updates, executive summaries, after-action reviews, risk narratives, and operational reporting

7. A track record of measurable improvement: better detection quality, reduced false positives, faster containment, lower backlog, stronger readiness, and reduced risk

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the Cyber Security Operations team's daily activities, ensuring alignment with company policies and industry best practices
  • Developing, maintaining, and executing a comprehensive incident response plan to rapidly identify and mitigate cyber threats
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure cybersecurity projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget
  • Conducting security assessments, including network and software vulnerability analyses and penetration testing, to identify and address potential security gaps
  • Providing leadership and direction to team members, fostering an inclusive work environment and facilitating professional development
  • Monitoring networks for security events, restoring environments post-incident, and enhancing threat detection capabilities
  • Evaluating event flows and assisting with security audits to identify risks and implement effective solutions
  • Managing team performance, delegating tasks as necessary, and ensuring projects adhere to budget and company standards
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
