Clera is building AI agents that help startups hire and talented people find their next role. We combine technology with hands-on recruiting support to connect companies with candidates who fit what they need. Our work spans finding candidates, starting conversations, assessing fit, and coordinating introductions.

We work with startups including Mintlify, Luminai, and Windsurf. Our goal is to make recruiting more useful for both sides: companies meet relevant people, and candidates get introduced to opportunities worth considering.

We're hiring an Operations Associate in Salt Lake City to keep every introduction moving: the calls, follow-ups and checks that turn a good match into a booked interview. You'll sit with our Salt Lake City sales team and work directly with the founders.

We're based in San Francisco and bringing the team to Salt Lake City to meet and onboard everyone in person. After onboarding the role is hybrid in Salt Lake City. Visits to our HQ in San Francisco to meet the team and other startups in the Bay are optional.

Pay and growth

• Pay. $55–65K base.
• Your first 90 days. Your first two weeks are in person in Salt Lake City with the team. By day 30 you run interview scheduling and client feedback for a set of accounts. By day 90 you own the full handoff from shortlist to booked interview for your book.
• Founder time. You get a weekly 1:1 with a founder. Your scope grows as fast as you do.

What you'll do

• Get candidates to the interview. Call and text candidates to confirm interest, lock in times, and prep them for the first conversation.
• Get answers from clients. Chase hiring managers for feedback on the people we introduced, so nobody waits a week to hear back.
• Check before it ships. Review candidate lists before they go to a client: right role, right location, right salary, nobody who already said no.
• Keep the records true. Update statuses, notes, and next steps the same day, so the team and our AI agents work from what's actually happening.
• Fix what you run. When something breaks twice, find out why and fix it, or bring us a proposal.
• Use AI tools every day. Hand the repetitive parts to automation, then check what the tools produce.

What we're looking for

• Work ethic. Tell us about a stretch where you outworked the situation: a busy season, a second job alongside school, a team that relied on you.
• You get things done. Show us something you finished that nobody asked you to.
• Slope. Show us your slope: a promotion, more responsibility, something you started or ran. Where you began doesn't matter. How fast you've moved does.
• Comfort on the phone. You'll call people who aren't expecting you, and you're good at it.
• Organized. You can run a list of 40 open threads and none of them drop.

Helpful experience

You don't need a specific degree or a set number of years. If your last few years look the same as your first, this probably isn't the right jump.
