Founding Engineer (AI/ML)

Clera is building a recruiting marketplace and the AI/ML backbone that powers smarter matchmaking. As the Founding ML/AI Engineer, you’ll own the AI/ML intelligence layer—from recommendation systems and ranking algorithms to LLM-powered matching—that connects top talent with their dream roles. Your work will directly influence match quality and marketplace velocity.

What youll do

• Build and own the AI/ML intelligence layer for Clera's recruiting marketplace, including recommendation systems, ranking algorithms, and LLM-powered matching.
• Design and deliver end-to-end ML features from prototype to production, with a focus on relevance and performance.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to deploy models in production and monitor impact.
• Create scalable APIs and services that expose ML capabilities to the marketplace frontend and workflows.
• Establish data pipelines, evaluation, and monitoring to sustain model quality over time.

What Clera is looking for

• Strong CS fundamentals.
• Proficiency with React and TypeScript.
• Production experience with Cursor, Supabase, Prisma, Typesense, LLM APIs, and trigger.dev.
• Experience delivering end-to-end product features in a fast-paced startup, including ownership and shipping to production daily.
• Experience working in entrepreneurial hacky environments; open to working in hackerhouses in LatAm.
• Willingness to work 7 days per week.
• Has something outstanding about their profile (e.g., top GPA, notable projects, active GitHub).
