Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Occasional Fridays 6 am - 10am
Overtime may be required based on production needs and may vary from week to week.
Position Summary
LEE Industries is seeking an experienced Utility Sewer to join our manufacturing team. This position requires advanced upholstery sewing skills and the ability to sew a variety of furniture styles and components while maintaining high quality and production standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Job Duties
- Operate industrial sewing machines to produce upholstery components for cushions and flatwork.
- Sew a variety of stitch types, including:
- Topstitch
- French seam
- Cable stitch
- Zigzag
- Surge
- Piece-outs and repairs
- Sew inside and outside upholstery parts according to production specifications.
- Read and interpret production tickets, specifications, and work instructions.
- Work with a variety of fabrics while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Meet daily production goals while ensuring quality standards are achieved.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of furniture upholstery sewing experience.
- Experience operating industrial sewing machines.
- Ability to sew multiple stitch types with accuracy and consistency.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge is a plus.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to follow written instructions and production specifications.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work a full-time schedule, including 10-hour shifts.
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle materials weighing 25 pounds or more.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing repetitive sewing tasks.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements throughout the shift.
