JOB TITLE: Fiber Blower Down
DEPARTMENT: Shipping and Receiving
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Foam Fabrication Manager
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Foam Fabrication Manager, the Fiber Blower Down is responsible for the filling and assembling cushions using feathers, down, or synthetic materials and securely closing them according to company standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fill cushion casings to the correct weight, firmness, and distribution
- Operate filling and closing equipment safely and efficiently
- Close cushions using sewing or stitching methods
- Conduct quality checks on raw materials and finished cushions
- Move completed products to the packing department
- Perform basic machine setup, maintenance, and part replacement (needles, presser feet, thread, etc.)
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of excess filling materials
- Report defects or mechanical issues promptly
- Support other departments when needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Comfortable handling filling materials and performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials and manipulating thing
- Inspecting material to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defect
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times
- Production and warehouse setting with varying temperatures
