Full-Time | 40–45 Hours Per Week | No Saturdays

Position Summary

The Headboard Upholsterer (Insider) is responsible for upholstering and assembling premium headboards, bed rails, footboards, and related furniture components. This position requires precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail while working with fabric, leather, polyurethane materials, and wood frames to produce high-quality upholstered furniture.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Upholster headboards, bed rails, footboards, and other upholstered furniture components according to specifications.
  • Apply fabric, leather, and polyurethane materials to wood furniture frames.
  • Stretch, fit, align, and secure upholstery materials to ensure a professional finish.
  • Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and staple guns safely and efficiently.
  • Read and follow production tickets, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet LEE Industries' quality standards.
  • Maintain production goals while producing exceptional craftsmanship.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives by maintaining efficient workflow.
  • Cross-train in other upholstery or production areas as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of upholstery experience, preferably in furniture manufacturing.
  • Experience upholstering headboards, bed frames, or other upholstered furniture is preferred.
  • Experience working with leather, fabric, polyurethane, and wood frames.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, pneumatic tools, staple guns, and other upholstery equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and work for up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.
  • Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, and staple guns for extended periods.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and furniture components as needed.
  • Perform repetitive motions while maintaining quality and production standards.
