Unitec seeks an experienced Account Manager for its New York City (NYC) location.
Reporting to the VP, Sales, the Account Manager is responsible for managing client relationships, identifying business opportunities, and driving revenue growth within a designated territory or customer segment. This role involves working closely with customers to promote elevator services, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving sales targets. The Account Executive serves as a key point of contact and expert advisor on elevator solutions and innovations.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing clients, ensuring their requirements are met and expectations surpassed. Assess elevator requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
Act as the main point of contact for customer inquiries, concerns, and requests.
Identify potential leads, conduct outreach, and secure new elevator service and modernization contracts.
Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the customer base and increase market share.
Gather and analyze market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitor insights to refine sales strategies. Stay up to date with industry advancements and innovations to offer cutting-edge solutions.
Achieve sales targets and revenue goals through effective negotiation and sales techniques.
Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and contracts to clients, outlining the benefits and features of elevator products and services.
Collaborate with internal teams (technical, engineering, etc.) to ensure successful project execution.
Develop a deep understanding of elevator products, technologies, and services offered by the company.
Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients, addressing their specific needs and challenges.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, sales activities, and project status.
Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses for management review.
Train and develop new Account Managers as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Environment & Hazards
Office environment with regular use of computers, phones, and office equipment.
Frequent site visits will be required, depending on customers' needs.
Exposure to construction or elevator shaft areas during site visits may contain potential hazards.
Special Physical Demands
Occasionally lifting up to fifteen (15) pounds at times.
Potential need for mobility in construction areas or elevator shafts during site visits.
Work Contact Group
Significant contact with technical teams, management, existing and prospective clients, suppliers, and industry professionals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field required.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in sales or account management within the elevator industry or a closely related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Technical aptitude and the ability to quickly grasp complex elevator systems and technologies.
Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
Results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to train and develop new Account Managers when required.
Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
